I'm all about that braid
When it comes to my hair, I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing! I look back at pictures and I have the same hairstyle over and over again. It's either down, in a ponytail, or thrown up in a top knot (and not the amazing top knot kind) - it's the kind that perfectly complements my sweatpants that I throw on when I get home from work! Since I have finally grown out my hair, it's long enough to do fun stuff with, but when I try to style it myself it never seems to work out like it did on YouTube. Quite frankly, it looks like I did my hair with my eyes closed most of the time, not to mention that now I have so much of it, it's constantly in the way!
Now with my rant session over, it's time to let you in on a little secret - Blowout Junkie! That's right, a blow dry bar saved my life...
Not only do I get AMAZING service every time I walk through the doors, (they usually have coffee waiting for me, and for those who know me, that's the way to my heart) but, I can trust any stylist to do my hair!
Some say I have trust issues, but I call it being a perfectionist when it comes to my hair. It's funny since I know nothing about hair, but I still know what I like and for a lot of stylists I'm a nightmare - I'll admit it! With Blowout Junkie, I can show up for my appointment and know no matter which stylist I get I can just sit back and enjoy being pampered without worrying about how my hair will turn out.
If you're like me, and always on the go, make sure to let Blowout Junkie take the stress out of doing your hair! The last thing you need to worry about before a big meeting, or going out on the town with the girls is how your hair looks! Trust me, been there done that, and when it's all said and done, I either end up walking into my meeting self conscious about my hair, or with a whole bunch of girls night out pictures that I hate!
See this braid I'm rocking in the post - I stepped out of my meeting and went to run errands and women were stopping me in the street to ask me how I did my hair! A compliment on my hair? I guess there's a first time for anything all thanks to my favorite blow dry bar!

Healthy Italian Quinoa Salad
It's a constant struggle between Target's candy isle and I. I want to be healthy, its wants me to eat an endless amount of Sour Patch Kids and M&Ms. Let's just say the candy isle wins every time -damn!!
As I sit here, typing away, and eating the very same Sour Patch Kids that won me over at Target, I realize my plans of getting healthy this summer have not been going as planned. It was so bad, I had to get some help from the amazing Kelly Rizzo -once again- for a healthy recipe I could try to help me jump start my new and improved healthy lifestyle. When she recommended this quinoa salad, I was hesitant having never tried quinoa before, but once I tried it for myself it was love at first bite!
I'm really starting to believe that this whole getting healthy thing might not be so bad after all! You all have to try this recipe - not only is it delicious, it's perfect for the warmer days that we have coming up!
1 cup quinoa (any kind -white, red, multi)
2 cups low sodium organic chicken stock or vegetable stock
1 cup baby spinach and arugula mixture
1/2 cup quartered cherry/grape tomatoes
1 bell pepper (perf red or orange for color) diced
3/4 cup mushrooms (any kind, but I prefer Baby Bella) chopped
1/4 cut Extra Virgin Olive Oil- High quality
Just and zest of lemon
Seaver basil leaves
Salt and peper to taste
Gran Padano/Parmeggiano Reggiano cheese, grated
Cook quinoa according to the package instructions, substituting chicken or vegetable stock for warted, once quinoa is cook and has absorbed all liquid, keep heat on simmer, add all veggies, oil, lemon juice, zest, and salt and pepper. Stir until mixed well and begins start to soften just a bit. About 3 minutes or so. Transfer to bowls and sprinkle some cheese on top.
